44 veterans a day
SERVICE DOGS MAKE A DIFFERENCEAccording to data from 2022, we lose as many as 44 veterans a day to suicide, and it’s possible that that number is dramatically underestimating the crisis. We are failing our veterans, and it’s on the VA and Congress to make sure we use every tool at our disposal to address this epidemic. One of those tools is service dogs. Thanks to a law that I cosponsored, the Puppies Assisting Wounded Servicemembers - or the PAWS Act, the VA is getting closer to being able to pair

FIGHTING TO STOP TOXIC DISCHARGES TO THE TREASURE COASTOur beautiful Treasure Coast is always just one heavy storm away from turning into a toxic mess. In 2018, we saw it first-hand - pristine water turned green and a disgusting stench filled the air. Throughout the rainy season, businesses had to close, and beaches were left empty. We need to do everything possible to prevent a repeat of 2018. That’s why implementing the Lake Okeechobee System Operation Manual (LOSOM) is so important. As a result of a

Guess what Joe Biden spent millions on
STOP FUNDING BIDEN’S WOKE POLICIESJoseph - America leads the world through STRENGTH. Our nation is a beacon of freedom and democracy, but it is also a symbol of strength that keeps dictators and bullies in their place. That’s why it matters how the White House spends our tax dollars. President Trump understood that and used it to help our nation reach its full potential. In comparison, it’s obvious that President Biden prioritizes the wrong things. During a hearing in the House Foreign Affairs

HONORING LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERSJoseph - Day or night, police officers answer the call to protect our communities. These officers of the law take their jobs seriously and risk their lives to keep us safe. And yet, far-left activists take to the streets year after year to protest the very people who took oaths to protect them. The “Defund the Police” movement is the culprit of the disrespect the officers have to face everyday. That is why the House voted on bills to support the men and women in uniforms

No offshore energy!
FIGHTING TO PREVENT OFFSHORE ENERGY PRODUCTIONI’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: energy production near Florida’s shoreline is a nonstarter. Whether it’s drilling for oil or wind turbines, Floridians do not want it, and we’ve got good reasons. First, it’s a national security threat. If drilling was to be expanded or wind turbines were to be installed on the west coast of Florida, it would seriously impact the Gulf Test Range, which is vital for the military’s munitions testing and training

Senator Rick Scott's Week in Review
Dear Fellow Floridian, Like so many families across our state, the events over the last few months have caused me to think a lot about the safety and security of our kids and grandkids. Florida is a great place to live, work and raise a family, and we want to keep it that way. Sadly, the Biden administration's policies aren't making that easy. I don't understand why Joe Biden doesn't seem to care or prioritize American families in this way, but I will tell you this: I care and I won’t stop fighting

They’re spending your money on leftist propaganda
HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT VOICE OF AMERICA?Joseph - The federal government derives all of its power - and money - from the people, and it exists to protect the fundamental rights of the people, including a free press. That’s why it’s extremely concerning that a federal, taxpayer-funded entity is skirting the First Amendment. For those who may not be familiar, Voice of America was established in 1942 by the State Department to broadcast “comprehensive coverage of the news and telling audiences the truth” across
'Sprawl Bill' 540 just passed — ask Gov. DeSantis to VETO it!
Dear Miki, We sounded a warning at the outset of Florida’s legislative session about an onslaught of bills that threatened to make this the “Session of Sprawl.” Unfortunately, one of the worst bills will soon arrive on the desk of Gov. Ron DeSantis — but there’s still time to help kill it. Senate Bill 540, which the Legislature passed this afternoon, would be a death knell for citizen engagement in development decisions. It would make it almost

REMOVING RED TAPE TO HIRE MORE VETERANSJoseph - When someone retires from the military, it’s not an ending, it’s the beginning of a new chapter in life. Following an injury that resulted in the loss of my legs and a finger, I was determined that my best days of service would not be behind me. That meant that I was going to start a new chapter, and I ended up continuing my service in government. I worked in counterterrorism and national defense as an explosive specialist, and those were jobs where I
