Hurricane helene update:
minimal impact on city
Hurricane Helene brought minimal impact to our city, with only a few downed trees and some temporary, isolated flooding.
City staff closely monitored the storm’s progress and actively participated in regular briefings with the U.S. National Weather Service and state emergency officials. These briefings allowed us to assess potential impacts, coordinate resources, and pre-stage necessary support to keep you and your families informed and safe.
Our thoughts are with those affected by this storm and with the first responders who are tirelessly serving the communities hardest hit by this natural disaster.
As hurricane season continues through November, we urge all residents to stay prepared. Ensure you have at least 7 days of supplies, including food, water, batteries, and medications. Create a family emergency plan that includes provisions for your pets, know your flood zone, and have an evacuation strategy in place.

Stay safe and thank you for your continued vigilance. |
