On this Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day, we honor the families that raised sons and daughters who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country.
To the mothers who have lost a child in service, your strength and resilience are beyond measure. We owe you more than words can express and we can never repay your sacrifice. Your children’s legacies live on in the freedoms we cherish.
When I deployed to Afghanistan as a bomb technician, my family knew the risks. They knew that I might not come back.
That’s a reality faced by the family of a soldier, sailor, Airman, and marine when they watch their loved one take the oath of service.
Gold Star Families are the heart and backbone of America. Our nation is forever indebted to you.
