| The September 2025 edition of research Florida By The Numbers is now available. Florida Chamber Foundation Senior Research Economist Sheridan Morby takes us on a journey through some of the recently updated Florida 2030 Blueprint metrics impacting Florida's future as a top 10 global economy. |
Some of the metrics in this update include:
- From the Talent Supply & Education Pillar:
- Florida’s labor market remains strong with more than 10 million jobs, larger than the population of 40 U.S. states.
- Currently, 1 in every 11 new U.S. jobs is created in Florida each year.
- The unemployment rate rose slightly to 3.8% in August, with 93 Floridians seeking work for every 100 open jobs.
- From the Infrastructure & Growth Leadership Pillar:
- Florida’s current median home listing price is just under $430,000 – up about 34% since January 2019.
- Growth in median home listing price varies across the state – for example, prices have risen by nearly 62% in Hillsborough County since January 2019.
- From the Business Climate & Competitiveness Pillar:
- The Federal Reserve issued its first interest rate cut of 2025, dropping rates by 25 basis points in response to slower national job growth and flat core inflation.
- From the Civic & Governance Systems Pillar:
- The Florida Chamber Foundation is proud to highlight our Community Development Partner, Community Foundation Tampa Bay (CFTB), for their ongoing efforts to secure Florida’s future through strategic philanthropy.
- Celebrating its 35th anniversary and over $468 million in grants to non-profits, CFTB focuses on fueling priority areas that strengthen workforce development, housing, mental health initiatives, education, and more, across five Tampa Bay counties.
