Stuart, FL - The Martin County School District (MCSD) has announced the cancellation of all after-school activities, including clubs, sports, and tutoring, for Wednesday, September 25, and Thursday, September 26, 2024, in response to Tropical Storm Helene. The District is closely monitoring the storm's progress and will release additional details later today regarding the potential closure of schools on Thursday.
Extended Day services will continue to operate as normal for Wednesday, September 25. The District's upcoming College Fair scheduled for Thursday, September 26 has been canceled and will be rescheduled.
"Our top priority is the well-being of our students, staff, and families," said Superintendent Michael Maine. "With Tropical Storm Helene approaching, we believe it is necessary to take these precautions by cancelling all after-school activities over the next two days. We will continue to assess the situation and provide an update this afternoon on the status of schools for Thursday."
Families are encouraged to stay informed by visiting the Martin County School District's website, www.martinshools.org, and social media channels for the latest updates. Notifications will also be sent via the District's automated system. Families that have not signed up and wish to can text START to 98900.
