Important Reminder of Public Hearing on Millage Rate

This is a reminder that the Martin County Board of County Commissioners will host a public hearing regarding the millage rate to be set for the next fiscal year on Tuesday September 15th at 5:05 pm.  This is the first of 2 pubic hearings.  Of the 2 hearings, MCTA suggests that this is the most important one to attend.  If you want to recommend to the Commissioners that you would prefer them to roll back the millage rate so that they do not take in more tax revenue than they did last year, rather than simply keeping the rate the same as last year (there is a difference if your property values went up from last year), then you should attend.  The meeting will be held in the Commission Chambers (1st floor) of the Administration Building at 2401 SE Monterey Road, Stuart.  It is the building just east of the Blake library.  Attendees often use the Blake library parking lot for overflow parking.  If you wish to address the Commissioners there is a short form that you need to fill out so get there a little early.

If you cannot attend this meeting and wish to make your preference known to the Commissioners, you may email them at https://www.martin.fl.us/Commissioners asking them to adopt the roll-back rate.  (If you scroll down the page slightly, you will see where you can email all 5 Commissioners simultaneously.)
