Florida Alliance to End Human Trafficking Receives $1 Million Donation from Starbucks
Donation will support grants for law enforcement and service providers, statewide training, and public awareness across Florida

The Florida Alliance to End Human Trafficking received a $1 million donation from Starbucks to strengthen statewide efforts to prevent, identify, and combat human trafficking across Florida.
The donation will support a broad set of initiatives focused on prevention and enforcement, including technology grants for law enforcement agencies working to identify and investigate trafficking, grants for service providers serving survivors of exploitation, and expanded public awareness campaigns across the state.
“This extraordinary investment from Starbucks will help us move from awareness to action in communities across Florida,” said Erin Collins, Executive Director of the Florida Alliance to End Human Trafficking. “Human trafficking often hides in plain sight, and the more people we train (from law enforcement and service providers to businesses and everyday Floridians), the stronger our statewide response becomes. This donation will help ensure that those on the front lines have the tools, technology, and training they need to identify trafficking and stop exploitation before more lives are harmed.”
The donation comes as Florida continues to lead a coordinated statewide response to human trafficking, including increased training and awareness around major events across the state and during hurricane season. It also allows the Florida Alliance to leverage additional grants, donations, and partnerships to expand its impact and reach more communities across the state.Floridians are encouraged to learn the signs of human trafficking and report suspicious activity. 2026 Human Trafficking Summit
Registration is open for the 2026 Human Trafficking Summit, a free, virtual event bringing together professionals and community members from across Florida to learn, connect, and strengthen efforts to prevent trafficking and protect those who are vulnerable.
Expert-led sessions will address key developments in:

- Service Delivery
- Education & Awareness
From advocates and educators to law enforcement, healthcare providers, service organizations, and concerned community members, everyone has a role to play in building a Florida where human trafficking is not tolerated.

Human Trafficking Awareness Training
We are excited to share the virtual training course has been updated to include new anti-trafficking laws, training requirements, and ways to report potential exploitation.Human trafficking can occur in any community and impact individuals of any age, race, gender, or socioeconomic background. Because traffickers often rely on legitimate businesses, public spaces, and everyday interactions to exploit victims, awareness training is important for organizations across every industry.
Regardless of sector, employees who understand the indicators of human trafficking are better prepared to recognize suspicious activity, respond appropriately, and report concerns to the proper authorities. Awareness training strengthens an organization's ability to protect vulnerable individuals, promotes a culture of safety and accountability, and reinforces a commitment to ethical and responsible practices.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier is asking all Florida businesses and organizations to join him in the fight to end human trafficking by raising awareness through workforce training. Human trafficking knows no bounds. This modern-day form of slavery claims victims of all ages, sex, ethnicities, and demographics. By raising awareness and providing training, lives are saved.
What is the 100 Percent Club?
The 100 Percent Club is a partnership between companies/organizations and the Florida Office of the Attorney General that recognizes those entities for taking proactive steps to train employees on the signs of human trafficking and for providing quick reference resources to effectively report human trafficking. When employees are equipped with the proper tools and training, they become the eyes and ears in their communities and help provide tips/reports to law enforcement. |

- Join the 100 Percent Club, a human trafficking awareness initiative led by the Florida Attorney General in partnership with Florida businesses.
- Download the Florida Alliance's Social Media Toolkit to educate your community and increase awareness.
