Dear Fellow Floridian,
Around the country and the world, Florida is known for our ‘Fresh from Florida’ fresh-squeezed orange juice that our growers work hard to produce, which is why, as Florida’s United States Senator, I am proud to lead efforts to support American growers with bills like the Defending Domestic Orange Juice Production Act
This good bill prevents the federal government from working against Florida’s citrus industry, while preserving the quality of our orange juice by changing the standard sugar level for pasteurized orange juice from a 10.5% brix standard to 10%. This is a critical fix, as the current standard has become increasingly difficult for domestic growers to meet due to severe weather and other obstacles, forcing producers to rely on fruit from abroad instead of their own backyards.
After working closely with Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, the Trump administration and my colleagues, I am so glad to see the administration move forward on this simple change to ensure the government isn’t harming domestic growers’ success and put American growers FIRST.
As your U.S. Senator, I’ll never stop working to support our growers and ensure their continued success!

Sincerely,

Sen. Rick Scott, Chair John Moolenaar Call on Commerce Dept. to Blacklist Communist China’s Institute of Forensic Science
Senator Rick Scott and Chairman John Moolenaar of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) sent a letter to Under Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Security Jeffrey Kessler thanking him for the administration’s efforts to protect American national security from adversaries like Communist China that seek to destroy our way of life. In their letter, Senator Scott and Chairman Moolenaar urged the administration to build on these efforts by reversing a Biden-era decision to remove the CCP’s Ministry of Public Security’s Institute of Forensic Science (IFS) from the Entity List, which has a proven role in Communist China’s surveillance and abuses.
This follows Senator Scott and Chairman Moolenaar’s introduction of the Confronting CCP Human Rights Abusers Act which will re-designate the IFS on the Department of Commerce’s Entity List.

Sen. Rick Scott, Rep. Randy Fine Reintroduce Sturgeon Conservation and Sustainability Act
Senator Rick Scott announced the reintroduction of the Sturgeon Conservation and Sustainability Act to provide more flexibility for American farmers to continue their sturgeon operations and protect their livelihoods while also adhering to the original purpose of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) to ensure the longevity of the species across the globe. This bill makes an important clarification between the captive-bred population of sturgeon, which is abundant and thriving in the United States with the support of fish farms and aquariums, and wild population of the same species.
Senator Rick Scott said, “For years, I have heard from Florida farmers about how the Biden’s reckless decision to classify non-native and hybrid sturgeon as endangered species created chaos. Farmers raising certain sturgeons’ species are being forced to care for thousands of fish that can live to 100 years – unable to sell, harvest, or relocate them without facing jail time or ridiculous fines. The Sturgeon Conservation and Sustainability Act fixes that by exempting captive-bred sturgeon species in the U.S. which have thriving populations, and wild populations of the same species so we can continue our preservation efforts while preventing an unnecessary burden on our farmers. I look forward to getting this bill passed in the Senate and in the House of Representatives, led by my friend, Congressman Randy Fine, and signed into law by President Trump – who understands that we can work to both protect our environment and support the success of American businesses.”
