This month's updates include:
- Florida's Economy Reaches a New Milestone:
- Florida is now the 14th-largest economy in the world if it were its own country.
- Surpassing Mexico and only 2% behind South Korea, Florida is moving one step closer to the Florida 2030 Blueprint primary target of becoming a top 10 global economy.
- Labor Market Trends:
- Florida added 30,700 jobs year-over-year in June, marking the third consecutive month of annual job growth.
- Florida's unemployment rate also declined slightly to 4.7%, while job growth matched the national rate for the first time in months.
- Education & Talent Pipeline:
- New statewide assessment results show 60% of Florida's third graders are reading at grade level.
- The new scores reflect a three percentage point improvement over last year.
- Inflation & Housing Market Trends:
- National inflation eased to 3.5% in June.
- Florida's housing market recorded its 10th consecutive month of year-over-year increases in single-family home sales.
