Residents of District 85,
As summer officially kicked off, June brought longer days, warmer weather, and plenty of opportunities to connect with our community across District 85.
It was a productive month both in the district and on the road. I began June with a trip to Washington, D.C., where I advocated for permitting reform and clean energy innovation—important steps toward strengthening our economy and energy future.
Back home, I met with local chambers of commerce to share legislative updates and hear directly from business owners about the challenges and opportunities they’re seeing this season. These conversations are especially meaningful as our communities grow and thrive during the busy summer months.
I also had the opportunity to speak at Club 47 USA, welcome Byron Donalds to our area, celebrate the grand opening of Lowe’s in Tradition, and tour Lake Okeechobee to discuss ongoing restoration efforts that are vital to our environment and quality of life.

I kicked off June with a trip to Washington, D.C., to advocate for permitting reform and the expansion of clean energy solutions, including Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). These discussions focused on policies that will strengthen America’s energy future while supporting economic growth and improving the efficiency of the permitting process.
During the visit, our team met with Chairman Brian Mast, Congressman Aaron P. Bean, and staff from seven additional members of Florida’s congressional delegation to discuss these important priorities.
Thank you to the Conservative Energy Network for organizing this opportunity and extending the invitation. I was honored to be the only Florida legislator invited to participate in these discussions.

Throughout the month of June, I had the pleasure of meeting with the Martin County/Palm City/Indian River Chamber of Commerce and the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce to provide a legislative update following the 2026 Session.
These meetings were a great opportunity to connect with local business owners, community leaders, and residents to discuss the legislation passed this session, answer questions, and share updates on Florida’s proposed property tax reforms. I always appreciate the thoughtful conversations and valuable feedback from our business community, and I look forward to continuing to work together to strengthen our local economy and improve the quality of life throughout our region.

I had the opportunity to join Congressman Byron Donalds for a tour of Lake Okeechobee alongside local leaders, stakeholders, and community members. Thank you to Mike Elfenbein for bringing together such a diverse group for an important discussion about the lake’s history, ongoing challenges, and the progress being made to restore and protect this vital resource.
As Florida’s next Governor, I believe Byron Donalds will be ready to hit the ground running. He demonstrated a strong understanding of the issues impacting Lake Okeechobee, its history, and the importance of continuing Florida’s successful environmental restoration efforts. I appreciate his commitment to protecting our natural resources and ensuring this important work continues for future generations. |

June also brought the opportunity to attend the Club 47 USA meeting, where I was honored to address the audience and provide an update on the Legislature’s work to deliver meaningful property tax relief for Florida homeowners. It was a great opportunity to discuss the progress we’ve made and the importance of continuing the conversation with constituents.
I was also pleased to help welcome Congressman Byron Donalds as he shared his vision for Florida’s future. It was encouraging to see such a strong turnout and so many engaged citizens participating in the discussion. The June meeting featured Congressman Donalds as a special guest speaker.
Club 47 USA continues to be a fantastic community of engaged Floridians who care deeply about the future of our state. | One of the highlights of the month was attending the RPOF meeting, where it was great to collaborate with fellow Republican leaders, elected officials, and grassroots advocates from across the state. These opportunities to share ideas, discuss priorities, and strengthen partnerships are invaluable as we continue working together to advance policies that benefit our communities. I’m always grateful for the chance to connect with so many dedicated individuals who are committed to making Florida even stronger. |

It was a pleasure to attend the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting celebrating the grand opening of the new Lowe’s Home Improvement in Tradition. The event was packed with Chamber ambassadors, local leaders, business professionals, and community members, highlighting the excitement surrounding this new investment in our community.
New businesses like Lowe’s create jobs, expand shopping options for residents, and strengthen our local economy. Congratulations to the entire Lowe’s team on this exciting milestone, and thank you to the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce for continuing to support economic growth throughout our region. We are excited to welcome Lowe’s to St. Lucie County and look forward to seeing its positive impact for years to come. |

Constituent Services
A constituent recently reached out to our office after encountering an issue with her nursing license. As a licensed Nurse Practitioner, maintaining an active nursing license is not required in Florida, so she had allowed it to lapse. However, when she decided to volunteer at a summer camp in New York, she learned that an active nursing license was needed to participate.
After completing the reinstatement process, a clerical error on the paperwork created an unexpected delay. With summer quickly approaching and a lengthy review process ahead, she was concerned that she would miss the opportunity to serve at the camp.
Our office contacted the Florida Board of Nursing and worked with the appropriate staff to ensure the issue was reviewed and corrected as quickly as possible. Thanks to their cooperation and responsiveness, the licensing matter was moved in the right direction, allowing the constituent to complete the necessary requirements and move forward with her plans to volunteer this summer.
Helping constituents navigate state agencies and overcome bureaucratic hurdles is an important part of our work, and we were grateful to assist in ensuring she could continue serving others through her volunteer efforts.
