| Making an Investment to Defend Free Enterprise |
| The movement to support growth, innovation, and opportunity got a lot stronger. |
![Hands holding flags.]() |
The U.S. Chamber has secured a historic $100 million endowment—the largest single investment in our 114-year history—to support the New Fight for Free Enterprise, our effort to defend, protect, and advance the free enterprise system.
Why it matters: The threats to free enterprise aren't slowing down—from regulatory overreach and anti-growth policies to coordinated campaigns to dismantle capitalism and growing skepticism about the value of free enterprise. This comprehensive, multi-year effort ensures we can respond to every challenge effectively.
What we're saying: "Our mission is to ensure free enterprise remains the foundation of growth and opportunity in America. That requires both the ability to move quickly in the face of new challenges and the staying power to see this work through. With this support, we will do both— and help restore confidence that business is a force for progress in all Americans' lives and in communities across the country." — Suzanne P. Clark, President & CEO, U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Be smart: The New Fight for Free Enterprise is already strengthening our work on three fronts:
- Winning the argument: Leading a nationwide messaging strategy to define the role of business in society and make the case for economic growth, innovation, and opportunity.
- Fighting in court: Expanding high-impact litigation to challenge unlawful or excessive regulations and reduce the uncertainty that discourages investment.
- Stopping bad policy early: Enhancing our network of more than 1,500 state and local partners to identify and counter anti-business policies before they spread from city halls to state capitals to Washington.

On Thursday, the U.S. Chamber Foundation's Hiring Our Heroes program—in partnership with Our Community Salutes—hosted an Enlistee Recognition Ceremony at our Washington, D.C. headquarters. Approximately 150 high school seniors were celebrated for their commitment to military service, surrounded by family and business leaders.
In the room: Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Medal of Honor Recipient Salvatore A. Giunta, and U.S. Chamber of Commerce Board Chair Ross Perot Jr.
What they said:
- "I can sit at a table across from a foreign country, friend or foe, and talk about American strength — not because of anything I'm doing, but because of this group right here." — Secretary Pete Hegseth
- "I want you to know you're doing your duty to defend our nation, but also this nation will be standing by to always help you in your career." — Ross Perot Jr., Chair, U.S. Chamber
