?Hope in Action: Supporting a Brighter Future for Foster Children

Hope in Action: Supporting a Brighter Future for Foster Children
Big momentum for foster care reform—and we are honored to be part of the conversation.

We are grateful to NEWSMAX for having us on to share how initiative to invest in our youth and children, will changing lives. The First Lady’s vision aligns with what we see every day at Place of Hope: when children are given safety, stability, and real opportunities, they do more than just survive—they thrive.

We have watched youth rewrite their stories, break cycles, graduate, build careers, and come back to give back. The statistics do not define them—support does.

This is a moment to move from awareness to outcomes. From services to independence. From barriers to opportunity.

Last November, Founding CEO and Board Member Charles Bender, was invited to the White House to witness the signing of the President's Executive Order. We are incredibly grateful and energized by the First Lady’s leadership in championing foster care reform.

This initiative represents more than policy—it is a commitment to changing the trajectory of children’s lives. It is about creating a future where every child has the opportunity not just to survive, but to truly thrive.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month
🚨 Read this. Then share it. 🚨

1 in 8 girls and 1 in 11 boys experience sexual abuse.

In Florida, both girls and boys are affected — often at young ages and within places they should
feel safest, including their own homes.

This is not rare. It is not isolated. It is happening more than many realize.

At Place of Hope, we are committed to protecting children and providing safe environments, support, and resources for those who have experienced abuse.

💙 Every child deserves safety, protection, and a voice.
If this matters to you, share this post. Start the conversation. Help protect a child. Donate.

“I didn’t know you were allowed to say no.”

Words that carry a lifetime of pain—and the first steps toward healing.

This Child Abuse Prevention Month, we invite you to listen and learn through powerful, real stories from children, youth, and single mothers who have faced abuse, abandonment, and exploitation—and are now finding hope, healing, and wholeness at Place of Hope.

Watch the full 8-minute video of our Dear Someone Project, Episode 1, read by long-time Place of Hope supporter Emily Pantelides on our YouTube channel, then take the next step—give, get involved, or come see the impact for yourself.

Because together, we can turn broken into brave. 💛

At our Marshall E. & Vera Lea Rinker Cottage on our Bender Family Campus, it is often the simplest moments that matter most—and even more so because they are shared together.

From movie outings filled with laughter to library visits that spark curiosity, these siblings are rediscovering the joy of being kids—side by side. And here, that matters deeply, because they are not separated. They are kept together.

In a world that once felt uncertain, the presence of a brother or sister brings comfort, stability, and belonging. Keeping siblings together preserves those bonds, helping each child feel safer, stronger, and less alone as they heal.

As the seasons shift, so does something within the home. Everyday moments turn into discovery—hands-on science experiments, shared laughter, and a growing sense of confidence. Together, they are learning to explore the world with hope.

This month also marks an exciting step forward as tutoring begins. With determination and encouragement from one another, these children are building new skills and confidence—one small victory at a time. 📚✨

Our Marshall E. & Vera Lea Rinker Cottage is more than a home—it is a place where healing happens together, progress is celebrated, and hope grows stronger every day.

Because when siblings stay together, they do not just heal—they thrive. 💛

Their generosity, heart for service, and unwavering commitment have blessed this ministry in countless ways—impacting the lives of foster children, families, and young adults we serve every day.

Ringing in 80 with a Purpose!
Recently Rene was reminded just how precious life truly is—and how important it is to spend it with purpose.

So for his 80th birthday, he chose something extraordinary.

Instead of a traditional celebration, Rene gathered more than 60 friends and family to come together for something greater. They did not just celebrate his life—they stepped into a mission. Guests had the opportunity to learn about Place of Hope, take a tour, and witness firsthand the impact being made in the lives of foster children and homeless youth.

In lieu of gifts, many chose to give—turning a birthday into a moment of generosity and lasting change.

Thank you Rene! You are such a blessing!
America Reads The Bible Week
This America Reads the Bible Week, we are reminded of the power of a simple invitation and the life-changing impact of God’s Word. 📖

After receiving a welcome basket at our Leighan and David Rinker Campus in Boca Raton, a new resident was invited by a peer to join Bible study. That very first week, he arrived holding his brand new Bible—ready to learn, grow, and take a step of faith. Together, they are now walking through the book of John, discovering how to read and study Scripture for themselves.

At our Bender Family Campus in Stuart, that same spirit is alive. While young adults gather for Bible study, our childcare volunteer is faithfully helping the children memorize Scripture—planting seeds of truth that will last a lifetime.

Across all five of our campuses, lives are being shaped through God’s Word.
We are growing—and so is our team!

From advancement and project management to operations, programs, and enrichment, Place of Hope is expanding and looking for passionate, purpose-driven individuals to join us in making a difference.

If you are ready to use your gifts to impact the lives of foster children, families, and homeless youth, we invite you to explore our open positions.

Visit our careers page for a full listing and take the next step today.
