Dear Fellow Floridian,
The Department of Homeland Security has been closed since February 14th because Democrats in Congress want to put illegal immigrants over the American people. This week, Senate Republicans took the first step forward in getting around their America-last funding blockade. Working until just past 3 a.m. on Thursday, after defeating numerous Democrat stalling tactics on the Senate floor, we put forward a budget resolution as the first step in the process to funding ICE and CBP for years to come.
Not a single Democrat voted to fund federal law enforcement.
The brave men and women of DHS keep us safe from countless threats around the clock every single day. They keep dangerous terrorists, and drugs from crossing our borders. They catch vicious criminals who have come to this country illegally and get them off of our streets and away from our families. And they have done a phenomenal job of getting back on mission and reversing the damage of the Biden Border Crisis since President Trump return to office over a year ago. That’s exactly why Democrats have cut their funding off for almost an entire third of the past year.
Enough is enough, we need to move as quickly as possible to get money flowing back to DHS so they can get paid for the critical work they do.
At the same time, we need to talk about how we plan to pay for all this. I balanced the budget as governor, and I have consistently fought for fiscal sanity as your U.S. Senator. As we move forward through this process, I will be offering amendments on the bill that will responsibly fund America’s homeland security mission. Our nation has over $39 trillion in debt. We are facing deficits close to $2 trillion. Our children and our grandchildren deserve to inherit a prosperous future in a land of opportunity, not a mountain of debt. We are in this situation because of decades of irresponsible spending habits in Washington and Congress’ failure to balance the budget. We need to account for every dollar we spend, and there’s no time like the present to get started.
Once we have our border security fully funded again, we need to turn back to focusing on our elections. I will continue to fight tooth and nail the SAVE America Act. We need to take it up and pass it — and get rid of the filibuster if Democrats keep abusing it. The overwhelming majority of people want voter ID, and everyone deserves free and fair elections that they can trust. It’s just common sense. If you need to show an I.D. to get on an airplane, buy a beer, check into a hotel room, or rent a vehicle, you should absolutely have to show one to make decisions about the future of our great country. That should already be in federal law. That is why the Senate cannot allow this issue to fall by the wayside once DHS is funded again. I will not let that happen; that is my commitment to you.
Sincerely,

Sen. Rick Scott Introduces Resolution to Set Record Straight on Democrats’ Sham Trump Impeachment
Sen. Rick Scott filed a resolution on Democrat’s sham 2019 impeachment attempt against President Donald Trump based on new evidence released last week by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
Senator Rick Scott said, “The ODNI declassified report released by Director Gabbard confirmed what most Americans already knew: the President’s impeachment in 2019 was a total sham based on false and illegitimate statements and a complete abuse of government power. That’s why I introduced my resolution calling for justice and accountability. If there is wrongdoing found in this investigation, I want these people prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I absolutely condemn the people responsible for this partisan attack on the President and commend Director Gabbard for her transparency so the American people can see the truth.”
The resolution described how the documents released by DNI Gabbard showed how both President Trump and Congress were kept in the dark about evidence that the supposed-whistleblower misled investigators in his first report, only citing secondhand evidence to back up his allegations.
The resolution also shows how the whistleblower “admitted to misleading investigators about prior contacts with Democratic staff of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives and requested that the complaint be hidden from Republican members of the committee.” It demonstrates how the deep state worked to cover up the whistleblower’s deep political biases against President Trump, as noted in the DNI disclosures.
The resolution concludes that, “these concealed biases, procedural irregularities, and reliance on unsubstantiated claims formed the very basis of the 2019 impeachment process,” and affirms that the Senate:
(1) condemns the concealment of material bias information and the use of a flawed complaint to initiate impeachment proceedings against a sitting President;
(2) calls upon the Department of Justice to promptly initiate a thorough, independent investigation into the handling of the 2019 Ukraine whistleblower complaint, including potential violations related to false statements, improper redactions, abuse of the whistleblower process, and coordination with congressional staff;
(3) urges the Attorney General to pursue appropriate criminal prosecutions to the extent warranted by the evidence, consistent with the rule of law and without regard to political affiliation, to restore public confidence in the integrity of the intelligence community and congressional oversight;
(4) declares that the 2019 impeachment of President Donald J. Trump by the House of Representatives, which was predicated on a concealed and deficient complaint, lacks legitimacy and the facts and circumstances upon which Articles of Impeachment were based neither met the burden of proving that President Trump committed “high Crimes and Misdemeanors” nor established that President Trump engaged in “insurrection of rebellion against the United State”; and
(5) commends Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard for her transparency and accountability in declassifying these materials and sharing the truth with the American people.

Sen. Rick Scott Featured in Diario Las Américas on Letter to NBC Over Díaz-Canel Softball Interview on Meet the Press
Senator Rick Scott was featured in Diario Las Américas regarding a letter he sent to leaders of NBC News and its parent company, Comcast, demanding answers after the network offered Cuban dictator Miguel Díaz-Canel a platform on its signature show, Meet the Press, without meaningful pushback.
In the letter, Senator Scott calls out the network’s editorial team, including host Kristen Welker, for making no serious effort to press the dictator on his regime’s illegal imprisonment of political prisoners, denial of free and fair elections, and its close ties to other authoritarian regimes like China, Russia and Iran.
The letter also builds on the Senator’s ongoing efforts to both hold the Cuban dictatorship accountable and fight for the immediate and unconditional release of every political prisoner in Cuba — including a recent letter to President Trump urging him to expand pressure on Cuba’s illegitimate Castro/Díaz-Canel regime.

Chairman Rick Scott Leads Seapower Armed Services Subcommittee Hearing
Senator Rick Scott chaired a Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) Seapower Subcommittee hearing on the status of the U.S. Navy’s acquisition and implementation of unmanned surface vessels. During the hearing, Chairman Scott questioned witnesses about the urgent need for the Navy to make unmanned vessels a central part of 21st century American naval power.
“There is no question that our Navy must move decisively to integrate unmanned systems into the fight. The time is now and the Navy is late to the game already,” Chairman Scott said. “The history of warfare teaches us that whenever we don’t lead, we eventually suffer.”
