Dear Fellow Floridian,
One of my main goals as Governor and as your U.S. Senator has been for hardworking families to keep as much of their hard-earned money as possible at tax time. As Florida’s Governor, I cut taxes 100 times which saved Floridians more than $10 billion. Now, thanks to President Trump’s Working Family Tax Cuts — which I was proud to help negotiate and vote for — Republicans were able to cut taxes even more at the federal level and deliver for the American people.
This tax season, Americans experienced the highest refunds ever in U.S. history. Hardworking families in Florida and around the country saw no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on Social Security for most seniors, a permanent increase in the child tax credit, and tax refunds averaging over $3,400, a roughly 11% increase compared to the same period last year! These cuts marked significant tax reduction for working families, boosting real take-home pay by up to as much as $6,800 in Florida.
While Democrats continue to vote to raise taxes on Americans, Senate Republicans and President Trump stand firm in delivering fiscal sanity and fighting to keep more money in the hands of hardworking Florida families. I am proud to serve you, and I will continue to work hard every day to lower taxes and increase opportunities for Americans to get ahead.
You can find out more about the these historic improvements HERE.
Aside from Tax Day, many Floridians also honored Israel's Holocaust Remembrance Day last week. I hope each of you join together in remembering the millions of lives lost in the Holocaust, honoring the survivors who have bravely shared their stories, and renewing our commitment to ‘Never Again’ let such evil take place.
I am proud to serve on the Council of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. If you plan to visit our nation's capital, I hope you will take a moment to visit this important institution. Holocaust denial is at an all time high, and the museum does so much to combat this denial and educate the public on the Holocaust and our continued fight against all forms of antisemitism. Learn more about the museum HERE.
And if you're a teacher, the museum has phenomenal resources to educate students on the Holocaust. You can learn more about that HERE.
As your U.S. Senator, I am committed to working with President Trump, our nation’s most pro-Israel president ever, to call out antisemitism and hatred of any kind. I will ALWAYS fight to protect and support our great ally Israel, as well as Jewish families.
Sincerely,

Rick Scott
United States Senator

Sen. Rick Scott Releases Statement Ahead of Meet the Press Interview with Cuban Dictator
Senator Rick Scott released the following statement ahead of Meet the Press airing an interview with Cuban dictator Miguel Díaz-Canel.
Senator Rick Scott said, “It is ridiculous for NBC to give a platform to a brutal, illegitimate communist dictator — effectively recognizing him as the legitimate President of Cuba — while he continues to keep the one party communist system, oppressing the Cuban people, jailing innocent political prisoners, and silencing opposition. The Castro/Díaz-Canel regime thrives on propaganda and repression. The American people — and Cuban families across Florida — deserve the truth, not a sanitized interview that legitimizes a dictatorship.
‘If NBC is going to air this interview, they should use it to hold Díaz-Canel and the Castro regime accountable for what they are — an illegitimate communist dictatorship — and ask real questions to expose the truth. Here are five questions they SHOULD be asking:
‘1. Your regime announced a “mass pardon” of over 2,000 prisoners — yet NOT A SINGLE political prisoner was released, despite more than 1,200 individuals still jailed for political reasons, including 11J protesters, according to Human Rights Watch, Prisoners Defenders, Justicia 11J, and Cuban Observatory for Human Rights. Why were none included, and will you publish a full list and commit to releasing EVERY political prisoner without conditions?
‘2. Cuba’s overseas medical missions generate billions of dollars annually while doctors report confiscated wages, seized passports, and coercion — practices widely described as forced labor and human trafficking. Will you commit to end this system, return passports, and pay doctors their FULL salaries directly — or is this simply a malign revenue stream for the regime?
‘3. Cuba continues to host foreign intelligence operations from evil regimes like Iran, China, and Russia, including reported signals intelligence facilities, while maintaining ties to terrorist-linked actors hostile to the United States. If you claim Cuba is not a state sponsor of terrorism, will you expel all foreign intelligence personnel, dismantle these operations, and allow full international verification?
‘4. Under your one-party communist system, Cubans face chronic poverty, shortages, and blackouts, while regime elites enjoy privileges denied to the people. Will you legalize opposition parties, allow independent candidates, and commit to FREE and FAIR multi-party elections with international observers?
‘5. While regime elites — including members of the Castro family — enjoy unrestricted internet and profit from social media, ordinary Cubans face censorship and shutdowns, especially during protests. Recently, even Fidel Castro’s grandson, Sandro Castro, publicly flaunted this privilege while everyday Cubans remain silenced. Will you guarantee full internet freedom for ALL Cubans, even under peaceful protests or demonstrations — or does this double standard prove the system serves elites, not the people?”
Senator Scott concluded, “The Cuban people deserve freedom, transparency, democracy, and Patria y Vida — not more lies and propaganda. We will not be fooled.”

Sen. Rick Scott Introduces Bills to Defund UNRWA, Support Israel
Senator Rick Scott announced the introduction of his Stop Support for UNRWA Act of 2026 and the IGO Anti Boycott Act of 2026 — two bills to hold the U.N. accountable for its abuses of U.S. taxpayer dollars and its treatment of America’s allies.
The Stop Support for UNRWA Act ensures that U.S. taxpayers will never again be forced to sponsor the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), whose workers were tied to the October 7 terrorist attack in Israel. This bill also eliminates funding for U.N. bodies chaired by governments that the State Department identifies as repeatedly supporting terrorism.
The IGO Anti Boycott Act of 2026 modernizes anti-boycott laws to combat the campaign of economic pressure working through UN agencies and other IGOs that compile blacklists of Israeli companies and seek to delegitimize Isael economically. The bill also mandates a public annual report listing both foreign governments and IGOs involved in such boycott efforts.
