Dear Fellow Floridian,

Last month, I went on my sixth trip to Israel, where I saw the absolute evil of Israel's enemies and their brutality. I saw where Jewish families were killed just for being Jewish, where women were raped and murdered and babies butchered. I talked with people who experienced the attack firsthand and thankfully survived, and they told me what happened to them, their families and friends.

Sadly, the devastation has continued since October 7th. Just this week, I was walking into my office when I noticed a group of men and women looking at the poster I have with every hostage's face on it to raise awareness about those still in captivity. As I stopped to speak with them, I learned they were all either released hostages or family members waiting for their loved ones to come home. One of the released hostages was Aviva Siegel. Aviva told me what she experienced and the heartbreak she is feeling knowing her husband Keith is still in captivity.

I cannot imagine what that's like, but I can tell you this: I will NOT stop fighting and speaking every single day about what happened on October 7th and those held hostage, including Americans! And like I told Prime Minister Netanyahu, as your U.S. Senator, I will ALWAYS stand with Florida's Jewish community and our great friend, Israel.

We cannot be silent. We MUST stand with Israel and bring every hostage home.

Sincerely,

Sen. Rick Scott Honors Life of Jereima “Jeri” Bustamante on 6th Anniversary of Her Passing
Senator Rick Scott introduced a resolution, cosponsored by Senator Marco Rubio, honoring the memory of Jereima ‘‘Jeri’’ Bustamante, Senator Scott’s former press secretary, who was lost in a tragic accident six years ago on April 8, 2018.
Senator Rick Scott said, “I can’t believe it’s been six years since the world lost Jeri. Six years since we saw her bright smile, heard her contagious laughter or felt her magnetic and kind presence when she entered a room. Jeri will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all of us who had the honor of meeting her, because she would automatically become your best friend and biggest cheerleader. She was always quick to offer a helping hand to others working to achieve their dreams as she pursued her American dream of one day standing at the White House press podium. And Jeri would have gotten there – she was an unstoppable force. As we traveled the state for long days of events when I was governor, I was amazed at how she captivated everyone around her, gaining the respect of Floridians and members of the press and never losing her positive attitude. When I practice my Spanish, spend days in Washington talking to reporters, like Jeri dreamed of doing, I hope I’m making her proud. So many people on my team had the privilege of working with and knowing Jeri, and today we honor her memory and the endless joy she brought us and the world.”

Sen. Rick Scott: Bidenomics is Hammering Florida Small Businesses
Senator Rick Scott released the below statement following the latest Producer Price Index (PPI) release from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Senator Rick Scott released the below statement highlighting the need to implement substantive fiscal reforms to end the ongoing inflation crisis fueled by the Biden administration’s reckless tax-and-spend agenda. March’s PPI data shows that there has been a significant rise in inflation during Biden’s presidency. Since Biden took office, PPI is up 19.0%.
Senator Rick Scott said, “Florida’s small businesses, like small businesses all around the country, have now suffered for more than three years under a failed ‘Bidenomics’ agenda. Today’s inflation report only confirms that prices are still rising and hard times are still here for small businesses. When I travel around the state, I constantly hear how hard it is for folks to make ends meet at home and for their business. It makes me think of my mom and how I watched her struggle to keep food on the table for us when I was growing up. Biden’s skyrocketing inflation is a massive problem for every Floridian and I am fighting like hell to stop the reckless spending fueling it. If we want to protect the American Dream for Florida families, we need new leadership in the White House that will bring fiscal sanity back to Washington and end Biden’s inflation nightmare.”

Senators Rick Scott, Ted Budd & Joni Ernst Introduce Bill to Consider Terminating Qatar’s Major Non-NATO Ally Status
Senator Rick Scott joined Senator Ted Budd in announcing the introduction of their Reviewing Qatar’s Major Non- NATO Ally Status Act alongside Senators Joni Ernst (R-IA). This legislation would require the Secretary of State to certify several requirements that verify Qatar is acting in alignment with U.S. policy or reconsider Qatar’s Major Non-NATO Ally Status. If the Secretary of State cannot make this certification in good faith, then the president is required to immediately terminate the designation of the designation. Read the full text of the bill HERE
Senator Rick Scott said, “Qatar has not been a good ally or partner to the United States for years and its recent behavior dealing with Hamas is telling. This is a so-called ally that hasn’t done squat to secure the release of American hostages while funding Hamas leaders' luxury lifestyles and allows its state-funded media to bash Israel and praise terrorists. Qatar enjoys many of the benefits of being an American ally, including hosting a U.S. military base. But if it won’t show up and prove themselves as an ally by doing everything possible to get our hostages home and putting an end to any support for terrorist organizations, it should face the consequences of its actions with the potential termination as a non-NATO ally.”

Sen. Rick Scott: March Inflation Report Shows Bidenomics is Failing Florida Families
Following the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) release from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Senator Rick Scott released the below statement highlighting the need to implement substantive fiscal reforms to end the ongoing inflation crisis fueled by the Biden administration’s reckless tax-and-spend agenda. March’s CPI data shows that there has been a significant rise in inflation during Biden’s presidency, with CPI increasing 3.5% over the year in March 2024. Since Biden took office, inflation is up 19.4% marking the 36TH consecutive month inflation is above 3%.
Senator Rick Scott said, “Bidenomics is clearly failing Florida families and the March inflation report proves that’s true. Under President Biden’s failed Bidenomics agenda, inflation has skyrocketed by 19.4% since he took office. Prices keep climbing, and wages can’t keep up. That’s why I have been fighting every day to stop Democrats from doubling down on the reckless spending that got us here in the first place. As someone who grew up in public housing and watched my mom struggle to pay the bills, I know how devastating inflation is for families like mine growing up. I made a promise when Floridians elected me to the Senate that I would force Washington to work for you, and I won’t stop fighting like hell to end Biden’s bad policies, deficit spending and burdensome regulation and bring fiscal sanity back to your federal government.”
