Dear Fellow Floridian, In just a few months with President Trump in the White House, it’s so exciting to see what we have already accomplished together for Florida families. In my meeting with President Trump at the White House last week, we discussed how we can build on this work to continue getting our nation’s economy back on track, and deliver on his agenda to secure the border, prevent a massive tax hike on families and stop inflation. President Trump continues to make it clear that he 100% shares my commitment to reining in the federal government, stopping wasteful spending and putting us on track for a balanced budget. The American people want change and a government that works better for them. They want a safer country, a better economy, and to protect the American Dream. As your U.S. Senator, I'm committed to working with President Trump and my colleagues in the House and Senate to grow our nation's economy and drive down inflation by putting American jobs and manufacturing first. The days of our country being taken advantage of by other countries are OVER. Together, we can unleash our economy, build American manufacturing and jobs and Make America Great Again! Sincerely, ![]() Rick Scott United States Senator — |

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT… Sen. Rick Scott in Wall Street Journal: It’s Time to Budget Like American Taxpayers |
In case you missed it, Senator Rick Scott wrote a letter to the editor of the Wall Street Journal in response to Senator Ron Johnson’s recent op-ed, Is This Any Way to Run a Budget?. In his letter, Senator Scott backs Senator Johnson’s call for Congress to approach the federal budget like a business, scrutinize every line and every dollar of $7 trillion in spending, and balance the budget to help President Trump deliver on his mandate to stop inflation and save the American dream. The Senator notes, with President Trump in the White House and Republican majorities in the House and Senate, Republicans must seize this opportunity to balance the budget, cut taxes, and grow the economy, just like he did as Governor of Florida. Sen. Rick Scott Introduces Bill to Track Treasury Payments After DOGE Finds $4.7 Trillion of Untraced Payments |
Senator Rick Scott and Senator Roger Marshall announced the introduction of the Locating Every Disbursement in Government Expenditure Records (LEDGER) Act to require the U.S. Department of Treasury to track all payments after the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) found $4.7 trillion in payments that were left unmarked and untraceable. The LEDGER Act will fix this alarming lack of transparency on how U.S. taxpayer dollars are being spent by the government with a system to track all outlays and disbursements made by the U.S. Treasury. Senator Rick Scott said: “Washington’s dysfunction was at an all-time high before President Trump took office this January. Over the past few years, we’ve seen a massive expansion of government, spending trillions of tax dollars with reckless abandon and nearly zero accountability or consideration of Americans’ best interests, adding $8 trillion to the now $36 trillion federal debt and running a $2 trillion deficit. The federal government hadn’t completed a comprehensive review since before the world wide web existed when the federal budget was under $1 trillion. That’s changing as President Trump, Treasury Secretary Bessent, DOGE, and the entire administration work to streamline government and crack down on wasteful spending. Like many Americans, I was outraged by DOGE’s findings that the U.S. Treasury made $4.7 trillion in payments that were completely unmarked, unlabeled and therefore, untraceable and unaccountable to the American people. My bill, the LEDGER Act, fixes that by requiring Treasury to track every payment made using Americans’ tax dollars. There’s not a single family or business in America that operates this way – we look at our bank accounts and credit card statements to make sure we know where our money is going and stay on budget. I brought the same common sense of every American family and business as Governor of Florida to get spending under control and balance the budget, and we can do the same on the federal level to save the American dream and support the great work of President Trump, Secretary Bessent and DOGE.” Read more HERE. — |
