Building on the Conversation: Insights from the Corporate Leadership Workshop: Safety & Mental Health in the Workplace

As we continue advancing workplace mental health initiatives, the Florida Chamber Leadership Cabinet’s 2025 Corporate Leadership Workshop: Safety & Mental Health in the Workplace laid a strong foundation for the discussions taking place at the 2025 Legislative Fly-In.

Held in Lake Nona on January 28, this event brought together business leaders, safety professionals, and mental health experts to explore practical strategies for integrating safety and mental health into business operations. Featured speakers included:

  • Dr. Heather Flynn, Chair and Professor, Department of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine, Florida State University College of Medicine, offering evidence-based strategies to address mental health in the workplace and build a culture of resilience.

  • Mark Morgan, a nationally recognized expert on workplace safety and leadership, sharing insights on how safety culture drives employee engagement and risk reduction.

The Legislative Fly-In now continues this conversation at the policy level, with The Honorable Sam Garrison’s keynote on February 11 addressing how Florida’s legislative priorities align with business-driven efforts to make Florida the national model for mental health and well-being.

By bridging the gap between business leadership and legislative action, Florida’s business community has the opportunity to drive meaningful change that strengthens workforce well-being, economic growth, and long-term business success.
