Treasure Coast Food Bank Celebrates One Year
Since Groundbreaking, Advances ‘Feed Unite Flourish’ Campaign
Ongoing capital campaign strengthens efforts to combat food insecurity and build a more resilient community
FORT PIERCE, Fla. – Feb. 19, 2025 — One year ago, Treasure Coast Food Bank broke ground on a transformative new building, marking a pivotal step in breaking the cycle of hunger and poverty. Today, as the organization continues its mission to create long-term sustainable solutions to end hunger and to strengthen the community, it is publicly announcing the ‘Feed Unite Flourish’ capital campaign—a $30 million initiative to increase capacity and expand services to address rising food insecurity on the Treasure Coast.
With current facilities operating over capacity, the 132,000-square-foot solutions-based facility is designed to centralize operations, provide uninterrupted service during crisis and to meet the increasing demand for nutritious food and wraparound programs. The new facility will consolidate multiple locations into a single, hurricane-hardened hub—ensuring resilience in the face of storms, economic hardships, reinforcing the food bank’s commitment to being a reliable lifeline for its neighbors.
“This anniversary marks not only the progress of our new building but also our unwavering commitment to this community,” said Judith Cruz, President and CEO of Treasure Coast Food Bank. “The ‘Feed Unite Flourish’ campaign isn’t just about constructing a building—it’s about increasing capacity to nourish our neighbors, investing in partnerships, and innovating for lasting change to build a stronger community for all."
As construction advances, Treasure Coast Food Bank has reached the halfway point of its fundraising goal and is calling on the community to help complete this vital project. With hurricane season approaching, timely support will ensure the facility is operational and ready to provide relief to those in need.
Treasure Coast Food Bank’s new home will feature:
- Expanded cold and dry storage to increase the distribution of nutritious meals
- A Nutrition and Wellness Outreach Center to promote healthier communities
- Expanded Job Training Center to support individuals on their journey to self-sufficiency
- Community meeting spaces to foster collaboration and education
- A temperature-controlled volunteer center to enhance engagement opportunities
The 'Feed Unite Flourish' campaign focuses on three core pillars:
- Feed: Increasing capacity to nourish our neighbors by providing access to food and resources that support healthy, thriving lives.
- Unite: Investing in partnerships to be the lifeline neighbors rely on whether skies are blue, or storm clouds are gathering.
- Flourish: Innovating for lasting change to break the cycle of hunger and build stronger, more resilient communities.
As Treasure Coast Food Bank reflects on the past year’s progress, it remains focused on the work ahead. Community members, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to join the movement and help bring this vision to life. Together, we can build a community where parents don’t skip meals to feed their children, where families facing crises have a safe place to turn, and where our community stands stronger than ever.
