| America's health care system is broken, and across the country, older Americans are feeling that it is harder than ever to get timely access to the doctors and care they need to live happy, healthy lives. On top of that, their health care bills only seem to go up. People are frustrated, and it’s time for change! That's why, as chairman of the Senate Special Committee on Aging, I am fighting to fix our broken health care system by making it more accessible, ensuring doctors can give patients quality care without big government getting in the way, and ensuring it’s actually affordable for families. Earlier this week, I led a hearing entitled “The Doctor Is Out: How Washington’s Rules Drove Physicians Out of Medicine” to expose how burdensome federal regulations are fueling physician burnout and worsening workforce shortages. In this hearing, we heard about the real-world impact this has on patients, including longer wait times and diminished access to reliable, high-quality care. Watch Chairman Scott's full remarks HERE or below. ![]() I’m also working to pass my More Affordable Care Act, which delivers on President Trump’s ask to put money back in the hands of patients versus bankrolling big insurance. This bill would drive down health care costs and empower Americans to take charge of their health care, increase transparency and competition in the system, and give families the opportunity to shop across state lines. Bottom line is we can fix our broken health care system, but it’s not easy. It’s going to take REAL CHANGES to make it happen, and I am fighting every day to get it done so that we make Washington work better for our seniors and every American. Read more HERE.
