Valentine’s Day is more than flowers, chocolate, and romance. It’s also about economic impact. The National Retail Federation estimates $27.5 billion will be spent on the holiday.

  • From florists arranging 250 million roses to restaurants crafting special menus, American companies of all sizes help us celebrate love and connection in every form.

By the numbers:

Why it matters: Local businesses and workers benefit from Americans’ holiday celebrations.

For 67 years, Karin’s Florist has helped make Valentine’s Day special for its community with exquisite flowers and curated gifts.

President Maris Angolia and her dedicated team spent weeks preparing.

  • “The 13th is probably the biggest order day of the year, and the 14th is one of the biggest delivery days,” said Angolia.

Bottom line: For this small business and all those across the country making Valentine’s Day happen, it’s about more than flowers—it’s about building relationships with customers who return year after year.
