This tax season, Americans are experiencing historic relief. By passing the Working Families Tax Cuts, we avoided unprecedented tax hikes and that means Americans are keeping more of what they earned.
But the relief doesn’t stop there:
- Historic Standard Deduction: We locked in the doubled Standard Deduction and actually boosted it to $31,500 for families ($15,750 for individuals).
- Time & Money Saved: Locking in the expanded standard deduction saves Americans approximately 210 million hours per year in paperwork and $13 billion in compliance costs annually.
- Largest Refunds in History: The average refund is projected to increase by $1,000, with a total of $91 billion in additional refunds being returned to the American people this spring.
This is why the American people decisively elected President Trump and Republican majorities in both chambers of Congress. We’re protecting families from massive tax hikes, simplifying the tax code, and ensuring that Americans keep more of what they earn.
