December 2025

A Letter from our Executive Director
Dear Friends,

As we close out this year, I am deeply humbled by what we’ve accomplished together. In 2025, Family Promise of Martin County walked alongside more than 250 families facing housing insecurity. One family even crossed the threshold into homeownership—a milestone that reminds us why we do this work. Our housing capacity has grown to 12 apartments, and soon we will add five tiny homes, expanding the ways we can provide stability. We’ve prevented nearly 30 families from losing their homes and helped five families quickly re-enter housing. Beyond shelter, we’ve continued to invest in parents—helping them build skills, gain experience, and pursue higher income for a more secure future.

Yet, as we celebrate, we also acknowledge the challenges ahead. Not all families’ journeys look the same. Some need only a few months of transitional housing before moving on to independence. Others, despite working full-time and caring for children, require much longer—especially when mental health struggles or past trauma are part of the story.

These cases call for permanent supportive housing, a program that faces shrinking funding. Still, we remain committed to innovation: contracting with private therapists for continuity of care, offering financial planning, and requiring career advancement programs. Each success and setback teaches us something new, and each pattern we see becomes an opportunity for creative solutions.

Looking toward 2026, we anticipate new programs and procedures to better serve our local workforce families with children. Our mission remains clear: to provide shelter, housing, and a path to independence—because a healthier community begins with stability for every family. Thank you for standing with us. Your partnership makes this work possible, and we can’t wait to share what’s next as we gather in January to dream and plan for a brighter tomorrow.

With gratitude and hope,

Madeleine Bozone

What an incredible day at the 6th Annual Bed Races!

More than 500 people came out to cheer, race, and celebrate, and together we raised $40,000 for families in need. The excitement is still lingering—we’re feeling the energy from this unforgettable event!

This year, we added trophies, extra seating with bleachers and a cozy area near the food trucks, a big kids zone, face painting, fairy hair, and so much more.

A huge thank you to our community partners for helping make it all possible: Boys and Girls Club of Martin County, LAHIA (Love and Hope in Action), Immanuel Lutheran, Habitat for Humanity, BNI Powerhouse, Furia Corsa, Stuart Police Department, Girl Scout Troop 31034, and countless others.

In November, our volunteers cleaned our transitional housing units, put up fans in those units, moved furniture, hung up lights in our backyard to make it beautiful, attended volunteer fairs on our behalf, joined our shelter families evenings and weekends at our family center, lent a hand with event planning, set-up/breakdown, fundraising efforts, setting, clean, and resetting our transitional housing units, moving into a storage unit, and other behind-the-scenes support. Every bit of help makes a difference, and we appreciate their time and contributions.
WANT TO HELP?
Please reach out to us if you can help with any of the below. Email volunteer@mcfamilypromise.org to get involved. We have lots of ways for you to support our mission.
At Family Promise of Martin County, even the simplest supplies make a real difference. Paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning products, and other everyday essentials help us keep our Almost Home transitional units and our Family Center clean, comfortable, and welcoming.

These are the simple necessities we all often take for granted—the things we reach for without thinking. For the families we serve, they provide dignity, stability, and one less worry on an already challenging journey.

Your donations ensure our staff can support families with care and efficiency every day. Thank you for helping us meet these essential needs and for showing up in the small ways that create big change.
