Stuart Walmart hosts Annual Shop With a Cop / Firefighter
Each holiday season, children who might otherwise go without Christmas gifts are given the chance to experience the joy of shopping, thanks to the generosity of the City of Stuart police officers and fire rescue personnel. During this heartwarming event--"Shop with a Cop/Firefighter"--11 children were each allotted $125 to spend in Walmart in a one-hour timeframe however they wished. Some filled their carts with the toys and treats they had dreamed of, while others chose clothing and essentials their families needed most. This annual tradition never fails to tug at our heartstrings, as the smiles and excitement of the children remind us all of the magic of Christmas from a child's eyes. It’s a powerful experience for everyone involved, from the volunteers to the onlookers, as we witness the joy and gratitude that fills the air.
Many thanks to the management and staff of the Stuart Walmart for partnering with us to make this event possible over the years.
And thank you to Mayor Campbell Rich, and Commissioners Laura Giobbi and Sean Reed for coming out to support this holiday tradition. |

Latest Masterpiece Joins the "Mobile Art Gallery"
Capt. Francis Alexandre Adams, a direct descendant of former U.S. presidents, John and John Quincy Adams, was an extraordinary man and he was sometimes referred to as 'The George Washington of Stuart.'
Artwork celebrating Capt. Adams by artist Don MacIntosh is the latest to join the city's sanitation fleet 'mobile art gallery.'
Most Martin County residents have probably seen or visited the small Captain Adams Park, located near Confusion Corner in Stuart, but may know little about the man it honors. Learn more about Capt. Adams here: https://www.stuartfl.gov/765/Captain-Francis-Adams
Thank you, Don MacIntosh, for your beautiful artwork and for helping us honor the beauty and history of the City of Stuart! |
