Stuart, FL - The Martin County School District is pleased to announce that the millage rate referendum on this year’s General Election ballot has been approved by a majority of voters in Martin County. This decision allows the District to continue funding critical programs and services for students beginning in 2026, when the current referendum expires, through 2030.

The funds generated by this renewed, four-year non-recurring referendum will directly support:

  • Enhanced School Safety and Security

  • Mental Health Resources and Programs

  • Recruitment and Retention of Highly Qualified Teachers and Support Staff

  • Professional Development Programs for Staff

  • Academic Support and Enrichment Programs for Students

This referendum mirrors the previously approved 2022 measure, ensuring that Martin County voters will not experience an increase in property tax rates due to its reauthorization.

The Martin County School District extends its deepest gratitude to the community for their continued support and engagement throughout this process. In recent months, numerous community forums and discussions brought forward a wide range of perspectives and questions, underscoring the community’s commitment to the future of public education in Martin County.

“This outcome reflects our community’s shared belief in the importance of investing in quality education and supporting safe, inclusive learning environments,” said Superintendent Michael Maine. “We are incredibly thankful for the trust our community has placed in us to continue providing exceptional programs and services for every student.”

The Martin County School District looks forward to working closely with families, staff, and community members to ensure these funds are used effectively to support student success.
