Dear Fellow Floridian,

I’m so proud to have another six years doing the best job in the world – serving the people of Florida as their U.S. Senator and fighting to protect the American dream for all Americans.

When I became Governor of Florida in 2010, Florida’s economy was in shambles, I was determined to turn the state around and make sure that every family in Florida could get a great job, live in a safe community, and send their kids to a great school. I grew up in a family that struggled to make ends meet and I know firsthand that if you can build safe communities where businesses thrive and create jobs and kids can get a great education, everyone has a shot to live their American Dream.

Florida’s turnaround playbook worked. That’s why I’ve spent my time as United States Senator working to bring Florida’s success to the federal government and making Washington Work for families. We’ve had so many great wins for Floridians over these past six years, and I’ll be spending every day of my second term as your U.S. Senator building on those efforts. I’m glad to have President Trump as a partner in the White House, who is committed to making the much-needed changes in Washington to make our communities safe, put Americans first and preserve the American dream. Let’s get to work, Florida!

Sen. Rick Scott and Sen. Jacky Rosen Applaud Passage of Bill to Hold Corrupt Politicians Accountable and Protect Taxpayer Dollars
Senators Rick Scott and Jacky Rosen applauded their No Congressionally Obligated Recurring Revenue Used As Pensions to Incarcerated Officials Now (No CORRUPTION) Act being signed into law. The law closes a loophole that has allowed former members of Congress to continue to receive a taxpayer-funded pension during their appeals process after being convicted of certain felonies related to their time in office.
Senator Rick Scott said, “I am incredibly proud to see our No CORRUPTION Act become law. If you are a Member of Congress and convicted of a crime involving public corruption you should lose all pension benefits provided to you by taxpayers and hardworking families—period. Making Washington work for American families requires real reforms that end the current dysfunction. We must never stop working to hold elected officials accountable and protect taxpayers’ hard-earned money.”

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT… Sen. Rick Scott in The Wall Street Journal: ‘Lock the Clock’ or Change With the Seasons?
As Americans remain burdened by the unnecessary chore of switching their clocks, Senator Rick Scott wrote a letter to the editor of the Wall Street Journal supporting President Trump’s stance to lock the clock and continuing his push for his bipartisan Sunshine Protection Act to end the twice-yearly time change and make Daylight Saving Time the national year-round standard. In 2018, as Governor of Florida, Senator Scott signed legislation which, pending federal approval, would exempt Florida from the time change practice and allow the state to remain on Daylight Saving Time year-round. Last Congress, the Senate unanimously passed the Sunshine Protection Act and Senator Scott plans to reintroduce and lead the legislation in the 119th Congress.
In the letter to the editor, Senator Rick Scott wrote, “President-elect Trump is right: Americans are tired of changing their clocks twice a year…
“This common-sense change will simplify the lives of Americans. The potential benefits are endless; studies show potential for reduced cardiac issues, strokes, seasonal depression and robberies, as well as benefits to the agricultural and overall economy with an extra hour of sunlight. The U.S. government should be reflective of the American people of today, not stuck on a century-old tradition that brings families more annoyance than benefit. Let’s pass the Sunshine Protection Act as soon as possible and finally lock the clock…”
