Turn Over a New Leaf in 2025 Come Learn About Backyard Composting
Did you know that City of Stuart residents can earn a FREE compost tumbler when you sign up and attend a 60-minute composting workshop?
Trash to treasure-1-2-3! Compost your veggie and yard scraps and apply the compost to your lawn or garden to enrich the soil with nutrients, which (1) reduces the need for fertilizers and pesticides (2) significantly cuts down on the amount of trash in a landfil and (3) reduces the costs and carbon emissions it takes to haul and process those materials.
The next one-hour backyard composting workshop is January 28, 2025, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
To pre-register for this program and for the workshop location, contact Anne Hawkins, Program Manager at (772) 600-1206 or by email AEllig@ci.stuart.fl.us. |

Semi-Annual Chlorine Maintenance Jan. 5-Jan 19, 2025
Twice a year, the City of Stuart gives your water a little extra TLC to keep it safe and fresh! From January 5th to January 19th, 2025, you might notice a slight chlorine taste or smell in your tap water—it’s all part of the process to ensure top-quality drinking water for our community.
Good news: it’s perfectly safe! If you’re on kidney dialysis, just check in with your doctor for any special instructions. Got tropical fish or aquatic critters? Be sure to treat the water before topping off your tank to keep them happy and healthy.
You might see some cloudy or discolored water during hydrant flushing—don’t worry, it’s temporary and should clear up in just a few hours.
We appreciate your patience as we work to keep your water flowing safely and smoothly. Thanks for understanding!
Questions? Reach out to Mike Woodside at 772-288-5343 (or mwoodside@ci.stuart.fl.us)—we’re here to help! |
