In recognition of Veterans Day, the Martin County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller is honoring veterans, active-duty military, reservists, and their dependents by providing complimentary passport photos throughout the month of November.
“Waiving this fee during November is a small gesture of our appreciation and gratitude to our nation’s heroes and their families.” said Clerk Carolyn Timmann.
This free service is available 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday for the month of November at the Martin County Clerk of Court’s Main Office located at 100 SE Ocean Boulevard in Stuart, Florida, or from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday at the Hobe Sound Branch Office located at 11730 SE Federal Highway in Hobe Sound, Florida. Call for your appointment today at 772-288-5553.
To demonstrate eligibility, present your DD214, military ID, military dependent ID or show a driver license with the veteran designation. You do not have to live in Martin County to receive this service.
Speaking of DD214s, veterans who have been honorably discharged from military service may file their separation records - called a DD214 - for free, year-round, with the Martin County Clerk of Court for safekeeping and easy future access.
By recording your DD214 with the clerk’s office, a copy is readily available to you in case the original is lost or destroyed. Plus, the record stays private. Military separation documents do not become public record for 62 years after separation, according to National Archives regulations.
