From Awareness to Action: The Latest from the Florida Alliance

2026 Human Trafficking Summit Now Available

The 2026 Human Trafficking Summit has officially launched, bringing together local, state, and national leaders to share expertise, emerging trends, promising practices, and strategies to strengthen Florida’s response to human trafficking.
Presented by the Statewide Council on Human Trafficking and its partners, the free, virtual Summit features sessions focused on legal issues, service delivery, and education and awareness. Participants can hear from subject-matter experts working across disciplines to protect victims, prevent exploitation, and hold traffickers accountable.
The Summit is valuable for law enforcement, attorneys, service providers, healthcare professionals, educators, business and community leaders, advocates, survivors, and anyone who wants to better understand human trafficking and how they can help.
Awareness and education remain among our most important prevention tools. Human trafficking can occur in any community, and individuals working in public-facing industries may be uniquely positioned to recognize warning signs. Training helps people understand what trafficking can look like, identify potential indicators, and know how to respond and report concerns appropriately.
The Florida Alliance to End Human Trafficking is proud to partner in this important statewide initiative and encourages Floridians to continue learning, sharing resources, and helping build communities where exploitation is more difficult to hide.

Human Trafficking Awareness Training
Human trafficking can occur in any community and impact individuals of any age, race, gender, or socioeconomic background. Because traffickers often rely on legitimate businesses, public spaces, and everyday interactions to exploit victims, awareness training is important for organizations across every industry.
Regardless of sector, employees who understand the indicators of human trafficking are better prepared to recognize suspicious activity, respond appropriately, and report concerns to the proper authorities. Awareness training strengthens an organization's ability to protect vulnerable individuals, promotes a culture of safety and accountability, and reinforces a commitment to ethical and responsible practices.

The virtual training course has been updated to include new anti-trafficking laws, training requirements, and ways to report potential exploitation.
Everyone has a role to play in the fight against human trafficking.

Help Raise Awareness About Human Trafficking
Join the 100 Percent Club

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier is asking all Florida businesses and organizations to join him in the fight to end human trafficking by raising awareness through workforce training. Human trafficking knows no bounds. This modern-day form of slavery claims victims of all ages, sex, ethnicities, and demographics. By raising awareness and providing training, lives are saved.

What is the 100 Percent Club?
The 100 Percent Club is a partnership between companies/organizations and the Florida Office of the Attorney General that recognizes those entities for taking proactive steps to train employees on the signs of human trafficking and for providing quick reference resources to effectively report human trafficking. When employees are equipped with the proper tools and training, they become the eyes and ears in their communities and help provide tips/reports to law enforcement.
