Dear Fellow Floridian, Over the last four years, families in Florida and across the country have struggled to make ends meet as the Biden-Harris administration pushed reckless spending that fueled a 20.7% rise in inflation. However, on Monday, all of that changed when President Trump was inaugurated and ushered America into its Golden Age. From securing our southern border to cutting reckless spending to save taxpayers money, President Trump started fulfilling the promises he made to the American people from the minute he got into office. We’re just getting started, and the president will need a great team around him to help. That’s why I’m doing everything I can to get Trump’s team in place and make sure he has every tool available to continue delivering on his mandate and Make America Great Again. But as we saw this week, Democrats are using every stall tactic in their playbook to delay confirmations of President Trump’s nominees. They tried and failed to stop the confirmation of Pete Hegseth, denying his clear qualifications for the role, which I outlined in an op-ed earlier this month. Bottom line--Democrats are intentionally undermining the will of the American people and slowing down President Trump’s America-first agenda. To put it in perspective, Obama had SEVEN nominees confirmed on his first day in office in 2009, and Trump had one. By day five, Obama had 12 nominees confirmed, Trump only had three. Here’s the reality: Democrats don’t have to like it, but the American people chose to put Trump in office, and he’s put together a team of qualified nominees who have the votes to get confirmed, just as we saw with Pete Hegseth, Marco Rubio and John Ratcliffe. It’s past time Democrats put duty to their country over their grievances and get ON BOARD. I hope they will, but even if they don’t, I will do everything I can to make sure we confirm Trump’s nominees and enact his America-first agenda. Sincerely, Rick Scott United States Senator To be the first to find out about Senator Scott's actions and statements, follow him on X, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. |

Sen. Rick Scott Welcomes Venezuela’s Rightful President Edmundo González as Guest to President Trump’s Inauguration Senator Rick Scott will bring Venezuela’s Rightful President Edmundo González as his special guest to President Donald Trump’s Inauguration. Senator Rick Scott said, “I’m incredibly proud to attend President Donald Trump’s inauguration today, and to be joined by Venezuela’s President-elect Edmundo González. President-elect González was elected by the people of Venezuela, under the leadership of María Corina Machado, and is a beacon of hope for a new day of freedom for those oppressed by murderous dictator Nicolás Maduro. As Maduro deprives the Venezuelan people of their rightful leader, openly threatens the United States and holds Americans hostage, we must make clear the United States will hold Maduro accountable and will not take these threats lightly. As governor and senator, I’ve stood with the people of Venezuela in their fight for freedom and democracy, and I’m looking forward to having a strong partner in President Trump back in the White House who will do the same.” Read more HERE. Rick Scott Joins Representatives John Rutherford & Darren Soto to Introduce the Bipartisan, Bicameral Red Snapper Act Senator Rick Scott joined Congressmen John Rutherford and Darren Soto to introduce the bipartisan, bicameral Red Snapper Act to stop the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) from unilaterally closing the Red Snapper fishery in the South Atlantic until a full South Atlantic Great Red Snapper Count study is complete. A recreational fishing closure would be devastating for coastal economies in the South Atlantic with widespread impacts on charter captains, anglers, and local businesses. Senator Rick Scott said, “Florida’s fishing industry is a multi-billion-dollar economic driver in our state, supporting hundreds of thousands of jobs and attracting visitors to communities along our coast. We’ve made great strides in Florida to ensure our natural resources are preserved and protected for years to come, including rebuilding the Red Snapper population. I’m proud to work with Congressman Rutherford on the Red Snapper Act to support our state’s commercial and recreational fishing industry and ensure their success isn’t limited by the federal government’s outdated data and regulations.” Read more HERE. — Sen. Rick Scott: OMB Nominee Russell Vought Will Help Bring Common Sense and Fiscal Sanity to Federal Government Senator Rick Scott shared his support for Russell “Russ” Vought, President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), during his confirmation hearing in the Senate Committee on the Budget. This will help ensure the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations (AMO) have the jurisdiction and authority needed to stop drug and human trafficking in U.S. territory and keep families safe. Over Joe Biden’s presidency, Customs and Border Protection reported a record 11 million encounters and seized over 9,000 pounds of fentanyl. With expanded jurisdiction codified into law, AMO, USCG and other federal authorities will be able to better meet this challenge and further prevent these traffickers from reaching our shores. Joining Senators Scott and Hassan are Senators James Lankford and Ruben Gallego. Senator Rick Scott said, “Members of our U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations are working day-in and day-out to keep our nation’s shores, beaches and maritime territory safe, conducting critical missions and intercepting dangerous drugs and human traffickers before they reach shore. These agents have faced unprecedented challenges amid President Joe Biden’s open-border crisis, but their work has made a huge difference to stop drugs and dangerous human traffickers from reaching our communities. Along with President Trump’s actions to secure the border, this bill will help keep our nation safe and stop the flow of illegal drugs coming into our country by permanently expanding the jurisdiction and authority of our Coast Guard, CBP and others in our maritime territory. I urge my colleagues to support this important, bipartisan bill.” Read more HERE. — Sen. Rick Scott Joins Sen. Ted Cruz to Protect Military Installations from Adversary Land Senator Rick Scott joined Senator Ted Cruz to introduce the Protecting Military Installations and Ranges Act to protect Department of Defense (DOD) installations and training areas from our adversaries. The bill restricts the purchase of certain property by a foreign person acting for or on behalf of Russia, Communist China, Iran, or North Korea. The bill is also co-sponsored by Senators Ted Budd, Katie Britt, Tommy Tuberville, Markwayne Mullin and Tom Cotton. Senator Rick Scott said, “The federal government has a duty to protect the American people and our military bases from espionage and terrorist attacks, especially in the face of threats from Russian, Chinese, North Korean and Iranian state actors. These are known enemies who want to bring harm upon America and our way of life – they have no business owning land anywhere near our military bases or sensitive air spaces. This is a no-brainer. It’s time to put America first and pass this good bill.” Read more HERE. — Families Ready for Trump’s Golden Age After Four Years of Biden-Harris Chaos Senator Rick Scott released a weekly update on his actions to address America’s debt crisis and rising inflation as four long years of the Biden-Harris administration came to an end.
