Martin County Receives $2 Million for Water Quality Project
Martin County was recently awarded an appropriations earmark through the Fiscal Year 2022/23 budget in the amount of $2 million to eliminate 22 commercial septic systems and service county landfill operations. By eliminating these septic systems and drain fields, the project will enhance water quality in the St. Lucie River and Estuary by helping achieve the Total Maximum Daily Load goals for nutrient.

Learn how to sew, knit, crochet, screen print, paint and more! Residents with a library card can access Creativebug from home or at any Martin County library.

Teen Community of Service is a self-directed volunteer program providing the opportunity to earn up to 23 hours of community service each month from April to September! Teen Community of Service helps teens ages 11-18 learn about local and national subjects and create projects that give back to our community. August's theme is "Homelessness."

New Monrovia Neighborhood Restoration

Public Information Meeting

Martin County's Public Works Department invites you to join us for a community information meeting and brief presentation on the proposed improvements to the New Monrovia/Cove Ridge neighborhood. This Infrastructure Reinvestment project includes the replacement of drainage structures, regrading of drainage swales, pavement milling, resurfacing, repairing of sidewalks and other ancillary items within the neighborhood. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27 at Murray Middle School.

Golden Gate Septic to Sewer 

Martin County Utilities has implemented a vacuum sewer system, which can be considered more efficient than force main and gravity sewer, in the Golden Gate CRA. With a vacuum sewer system, only one centralized location is needed to treat sewage in comparison to multiple pump stations with gravity sewer. The Golden Gate vacuum sewer station is complete and connections should be available in November 2022.

We Rise Up Challenge
Martin County Parks and Recreation celebrates this month with the We Rise Up Challenge! Visit the parks listed on the Challenge Card, find the We Rise Up poster and scan the QR code to discover the code word for each park. Participants who discover at least 7 of the 9 code words and submit photos to the Parks and Recreation Department will get a chance to win cool prizes! The deadline to submit completed challenges is July 31 at 11:59 p.m.

The Cone Zone

SE Powerline Avenue Road Closure
On Tuesday, July 26, the Public Works Department will begin roadway reconstruction on SE Powerline Avenue. This work will require a road closure at the intersection with SE Bridge Road. The work is anticipated to be complete Monday, August 1.
