FAIL TO PLAN, PLAN TO FAIL

Joseph -
In the Army, we constantly heard the old adage “fail to plan, plan to fail.”  From our first day at basic training, it was drilled into us that we needed to have a plan and a strategic objective for any mission. That’s a lesson that the Biden Administration still needs to learn.
This week in the House Committee on Transportation, I had the chance to question Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg about the Administration’s plan to address the supply chain crisis.  It’s clear that there are steps that could be taken immediately to reduce regulations on truckers and get goods moving, but the White House has failed to do so.  That’s why I introduced five bills to help more drivers move more products faster.
Then, in the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, I questioned an official from the Department of Commerce about ongoing sanctions on Russia and how, specifically, these sanctions can be best utilized to force Moscow to end its unjustified war against Ukraine.  But again, it became clear that there’s no real strategic objective in mind when it comes to this type of economic warfare being waged against Vladmir Putin, which is serving to undermine important efforts to defend Ukraine.
I break it all down in this week’s Week in Review:
