Stuart, FL – The Florida Department of Education has released its 2025-2026 school and district grades, and the Martin County School District has retained its "A" rating for the second consecutive year. Earning the state's highest distinction once again reinforces the MCSD's position as the premier public school district on the Treasure Coast and demonstrates that excellence is not a one-time achievement—it is a sustained commitment.
This year's results reflect continued momentum across the District. Not only did the MCSD maintain its "A" rating, but its total points earned in Florida's accountability system increased from 785 to 808.
In addition, four schools improved their school grade while every other school maintained its rating, underscoring the District's unwavering commitment to continuous improvement and student success.
"Maintaining excellence is often more difficult than achieving it," Superintendent Michael Maine said. "After seven years as a 'B' district, earning a second consecutive 'A' while improving our overall district performance sends a clear message about who we are. In the Martin County School District, we hold ourselves to a high standard. We embrace accountability, we believe every student deserves an exceptional education, and we challenge ourselves to improve every year. This accomplishment belongs to our teachers, support staff, school leaders, students, families, and community, and I could not be more proud of the work being done.”
Once again, ALL MCSD schools earned a grade of "C" or higher for the 2025–2026 school year, with several schools making notable gains in their school grades:
Stuart Middle School: "B" to an "A"
Hobe Sound Elementary School "C" to a "B"
Indiantown Middle School: "B" to an "A"
South Fork High School: "B" to an "A"
This recognition comes on the heels of historic gains on Florida’s spring 2026 statewide assessments. As previously shared, the MCSD ranked among Florida’s highest-performing districts in Geometry (4th) and Civics (8th). MCSD students outperformed the state average in key subjects, including Mathematics, Algebra, Geometry, Biology, Civics and U.S. History. The District also achieved the highest proficiency rates in Geometry, Civics, Biology and U.S. History when compared to neighboring counties.
