January 17, 2019
The Environmental Studies Council is bringing a night of Cuban spice to the Treasure Coast!

The gala, set for February 22,  promises to bring a touch of latin flair to the evening.  Guests will dine on delicious authentic Cuban food under the lush palms of the Felipe property in Palm City.  Dancing shoes are encouraged as guests can expect to be serenaded by a four piece Latin band throughout the evening.

“We are looking forward to an excellent evening to benefit environmental education for the children in Martin County,” said event chair, Kari Polhemus.  “We’re starting the night a little earlier this year so that we can experience a spectacular sunset as we enjoy Cuban fare and entertainment at the beautiful home of Lehr & Paul Filipe.”

Purchase your tickets now at escmc.org. Havana Nights takes place on Friday, February 22 from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Email info@escmc.org or call 772-219-1887 ext. 121 for a complete list of opportunities.

Funds raised at Havana Nights will benefit the Environmental Studies Council, a non-profit organization established to support the much-loved Environmental Studies Center.  The Center provides a science-based, hands-on environmental education curriculum to students in Martin County schools.  The Center is also open on school days between 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. for free visits by the public interested in touring the aquariums, shark tank, sea turtle exhibit, classrooms, Joey the Alligator and the butterfly garden.

Each year the Environmental Studies Council provides funding for college scholarships, a teaching position at the Center, educational outreach programs, new exhibits at the Center and much more.  Most recently, the Council raised funds for the Center's newly renovated Red Door Room.
Guests are encouraged to scoop up their tickets early at www.escmc.org.  Tickets are $150 per person and are likely to sell out fast.  Come out and support the much-loved Environmental Studies Center and environmental education in Martin County on February 22!
