Elisabeth Lahti Concert Series returns to the Library for 2019

- Beginning in January, the Martin County Library System will present the Elisabeth Lahti Concert Series at the Peter & Julie Cummings Library, 2551 SW Matheson Avenue. Five concerts will be held from January to April. This series is underwritten by a grant from Elisabeth Lahti awarded to The Library Foundation of Martin County, Inc.
January 12 at 2:00 pm; Alex Meixner Band
The Grammy-nominated musician and his band will perform an energetic set of polka, gypsy folk, and unique covers of popular American music from the last seventy years.
February 16 at 2:00 pm; Jim van Voorheis Trio
The ensemble will present favorites by legendary composers George Gershwin, Cole Porter, and others in a set entitled, "Secrets of the Good Ol' Boys." 
March 16 at 2:00 pm; Amy Clark and Jazz Piano Trio
Amy Clark, Brandon Glick, and Al Hager perform Claude Bolling's "Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio," a fusion of classical and jazz.
April 13 at 2:00 pm; Dr. Rosalyn Soo Mauldin
The critically acclaimed Canadian pianist will perform masterpieces with North American, Caribbean, and Transylvanian folk influences in the set entitled, "Musical Postcards from Around the World."
April 27 at 2:00 pm; Matthew Sabatella and the Rambling String Band
Traditional folk songs will be featured in a combination of vocals, guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, and bass, with stories behind the tunes included throughout.
All concerts require free tickets to attend, which will be available for pick up at the Peter & Julie Cummings Library on the Tuesday prior to each performance (limit two per person, per concert please). For more information, visit www.library.martin.fl.us or call 772-288-5702.
