Businesses sell on three things. Clean books. Honest earnings. Someone besides the owner who can run the place. You'll see where you stand on all three, with years to build on them.
Then it comes down to who takes over.
Your people can buy it. A bank funds the purchase through an employee stock ownership plan, you get paid, and the business covers the loan out of what it earns.
The person running the place for you can buy it.
Or a buyer comes from outside. Buyers see the numbers before they see the name, and only under agreement.
