SENIOR TAX ACCOUNTANT
The senior accountant in tax will supervise tax return preparation engagements and/or projects and develop proficiency in tax planning. The ideal candidate demonstrates a command of pertinent IRC sections and regulations. The individual also possesses the technical knowledge sufficient for supervising staff accountants and the communication skills needed to interact intelligently and professionally with all levels of client personnel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR SENIOR TAX ACCOUNTANT

  • Prepare individual, corporate, fiduciary, and partnership tax returns of varying complexities
  • Prepare quarterly and year-end estimates to assist clients with tax planning
  • Demonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional standards
  • Know and understand the reason for the firm’s policies and procedures
  • Develop skills and characteristics delineated in the firm’s evaluation forms
  • Prepare other reports, projects, and duties as may be assigned
  • Acquire the skills necessary to develop high-quality client relationships and strong loyalty
  • Participate in training courses to further develop technical skills
  • Provide excellent client service by quickly producing quality work and providing attentive service
  • Become proficient at tax research, which includes obtaining a knowledge of the firm’s reference sources
SENIOR AUDIT ACCOUNTANT

The senior accountant in audit will supervise a variety of financial engagements and/or projects. The ideal candidate demonstrates a command of GAAP, OCBOA, unique or specialized accounting principles, and financial statement presentations. The individual also possesses the technical knowledge sufficient for supervising staff accountants and the communication skills needed to interact intelligently and professionally with all levels of client personnel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR SENIOR AUDIT ACCOUNTANT

  • Perform diversified accounting and auditing assignments under the direction of supervisor and manager
  • Participate in planning and scheduling client engagements
  • Prepare and index working papers
  • Perform various procedures established under GAAP to verify accuracy and validity of client’s financial matters
  • Effectively communicate with client to receive information necessary to complete the engagement with minimal disruption
  • Know and understand the reason for the firm’s policies and procedures
  • Acquire the skills needed to develop high-quality client relationships and strong loyalty
  • Exhibit skills and characteristics delineated in the firm’s evaluation forms
  • Obtain a thorough understanding of GAAP and common audit procedures and techniques

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in public accounting. Experience should demonstrate both a progression in complexity of accounting tasks and work on in-charged engagements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA certification; master’s degree in taxation preferred
  • Proficiency in accounting software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
  • Capacity to remain organized while prioritizing a heavy workload
  • Capability to work well in a team environment
