Audit & Tax Managers

Managers are people within the firm who manage particular engagements and/or projects. They have a broad base of professional skills including (but not limited to) establishing workload priorities, organizing and planning individual jobs, supervising others, working independently, and analyzing and researching complex matters to reach an appropriate conclusion.

CRI’s managers have an in-depth knowledge of professional and accounting standards. They can also effectively lead project teams, apply of research techniques, comprehend various clients’ accounting systems, and adapt work as required. Personal characteristics of CRI managers include (but are not limited to) integrity, trustworthiness, leadership, conscientiousness, cooperativeness, professionalism in attitude and appearance, and dedication to client service the “CRI Way.”

AUDIT MANAGER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate, organize, and schedule projects to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Direct and support team activities by promoting an enjoyable work environment and ensuring high performance
  • Provide timely project-specific feedback to ensure staff learning and development
  • Review complete set of financial statements and related disclosures to ensure that CRI is compliant with applicable reporting requirements
  • Review workpapers to ensure that CRI is compliant with quality control standards
  • Research accounting issues and provide solutions
  • Properly plan, lead, and manage engagements to ensure timely completion
  • Become an expert within assigned niches
  • Facilitate the monitoring of CRI’s product quality and personnel performance
  • Maintain public certification and adequate Continuing Professional Education (CPE) units
  • Assist in special projects assigned by partners
  • Develop new client contacts and relationships that are beneficial to the firm
  • Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients

TAX MANAGER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide a final technical review of tax returns and documents for the majority of client base

  • Sign tax returns
  • Research tax issues and provide solutions
  • Stay abreast of developments and changes in tax law and accounting procedures
  • Communicate openly with clients to meet deadlines and ensure clients’ best interests
  • Direct and support team activities by promoting an enjoyable work environment and ensuring high performance
  • Facilitate the monitoring of CRI’s product quality and personnel performance
  • Assign, track, and manage tasks that are sent to staff/supervisors to prepare
  • Coach and develop staff and supervisors
  • Continually build and nurture an internal and external network to develop new business opportunities
  • Oversee real-time and monthly billing functions and collections
  • Monitor additions to WIP, aging, and write-downs
  • Maintain public certification and adequate Continuing Professional Education (CPE) units
 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation; bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
  • Minimum of six (6) years of public accounting experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems creatively
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Well-developed decision-making skills and initiative to make those decisions
  • Capability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to conduct and analyze research
  • Ability to remain organized while prioritizing a heavy workload
  • Ability to comply with firm policies and procedures
