Wayne Sloat's Purple Cow Poker Run

The History The title of this event was named in honor of Wayne Sloat, a savvy local businessman who supported Molly’s House. Wayne loved his Harleys and had an appreciation for good, loud music. He was an established businessman (owned several NAPA stores) and often referenced concepts from the book "Purple Cow." After his passing, friends and family created this annual event to honor Wayne while supporting his favorite charity. The Purple Cow Poker Run Bikers meet up at Charlie's to receive their player’s scorecard (to be stamped at each stop) and map to the poker run course. Bikers must go to all five stops on the poker run course before a deadline. At each stop, the biker hands the player’s scorecard for stamping and then draws a card from a full deck of cards. An official marks the player’s scorecard with the rank and suite of cards drawn at each stop. Registration/Player Cards- Charlie's Neighborhood Bar & Grill 1st stop- The Outpost Bar & Grille 2nd stop- J&S Fish Camp 3rd stop- Fresh Catch Seafood Grill 4th stop- Molly's House 5th stop- Treasure Coast Harley-Davidson The Purple Cow Party The last stop is at Treasure Coast Harley-Davidson, where judges score the cards using standard poker hand rankings and declare winners. The participants receive entry into the backyard, where live music, food trucks, and cash bar await. The public may purchase admission to the party (regardless of participation in the poker run). The Cause A family struggling with a medical crisis shouldn’t have to choose between being near their loved one and having a place to sleep. Patients who need to stay close to the hospital for treatment or recovery shouldn’t have the added stress of expensive hotel bills. Molly’s House relieves the stress and financial burden that come with a medical crisis. All proceeds from this event will help further our mission to support patients receiving medical treatment by providing temporary, affordable accommodations for them and their families.
