BARN THEATRE OPENS ITS 50^th ANNIVERSARY SEASON WITH THE MUSICAL COMEDY ?THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES?
 
The Barn's 50^th anniversary season opener is Roger Bean's acclaimed musical comedy ?The Marvelous Wonderettes,?  running from September 17^th to October 4^th.  We meet four young girls at their 1958 Springfield High School Prom who have hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts.  They meet again at their ten year reunion as we learn more about their lives and loves.  Throughout their venture, the girls serenade us with classic hits of the 50's and 60's,  including Lollipop, Dream Lover, Stupid Cupid,  Lipstick on Your Collar, Rescue Me, Respect, Secret Love, Sincerely, Mr. Sandman, and many more.
 
The musical is directed by Kristal Eckhardt, and produced by Jeanette Mazzella. The musical director is Mariano Garcia IV and stage manager is Kathleen Weaver.  Cast includes Cassandra Westcott as Cindy Lou, Heather Simsay as Missy, Samantha Holland as Betty Jean and Katie Eckhardt as Suzy.  According to producer Jeanette Mazzella, ?audiences are sure to enjoy this musical because it takes us on a nostalgic journey featuring over thirty 50's and 60's jukebox hits.?
