Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, thousands volunteered for military service, determined to defend their country and fight tyranny. This special program features a screening of the acclaimed documentary Bagels Over Berlin followed by a discussion with the film’s director. Through powerful first-person accounts, discover the extraordinary stories of 15 Jewish American airmen who challenged the prejudices of their time and flew dangerous daylight bombing missions over Nazi Germany. Facing extraordinary risks and a staggering mortality rate, these courageous airmen became part of a largely overlooked chapter of the Greatest Generation. Many of these veterans later made their homes in Boca Raton, giving this remarkable story a deeply local connection.
