It’s a GROOVY déjà vu all over again! I would like to personally invite you to the opening reception for the Summer of 69 Exhibit at the Elliott Museum on Thursday, July 11, from 5:30-7:30 pm.
We are recreating the SUMMER OF ’69 – a celebration of the moon landing, the far-out experience of Woodstock, the against-all-odds World Series victory of the Amazin’ Mets, and a tribute to the heroes who fought in the Vietnam War. It will be a museum-wide interactive exhibition, and we’re going to kick it all off on Thursday, July 11 with a 60’s Flashback reception. Bell-bottoms, tie-dye, granny glasses and peace signs are encouraged!
We are so excited about this exhibit and party. It will be a blast…Kyle G’s is doing the food and DJ Jammin’ Jim (who used to spin the hits at the Education Coalition’s GROOVY Night with Davy Jones event) will be playing all your favorite 60’s hits. We would love to see you…Bring friends and neighbors!
This exhibit is a beautiful example of an entire community coming together to do something great. Dozens of local friends of the Elliott have shared their artifacts, memorabilia, and stories with us-- and we have woven together a significant exhibit to share with everyone. The exhibit and the way it came together are indicative of the new direction and energy at the Historical Society of Martin County. I truly hope you can join us for a great evening. The exhibit runs through the end of September if you are unable to attend on Thursday.
