While in studio\, John wagered Lennon that the song would top the charts. A skeptical Lennon promised to appear on stage next to John if the recording did indeed reach number one. Months later\, on November 28\, 1974 (Thanksgiving Day)\, Elton John appeared LIVE at Madison Square Garden\, with "surprise" musical guest\, John Lennon. It was Lennon's last major concert appearance before his untimely death in December of 1980. Over 40 years later\, Lee Lessack and Johnny Rodgers\, alongside special guest Jonathan Hawkins\, recreate the famed set list for one night only at The Lyric Theatre.
