He teaches political philosophy\, American political thought and American politics. He is a senior fellow at the Hillsdale College Kirby Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship and a senior fellow at the Claremont Institute. He is the author of seven books including Woodrow Wilson and the Roots of Modern Liberalism.
