SUMMARY:Bye Bye Birdie
DESCRIPTION:Tony Award Winning Musical Comedy Bye Bye Birdie Hits the Barn Theatre Stage\n\nMarch 13 March 30\n\n \n\nThe multi Tony Award winning musical comedy we've all been waiting for\, Bye Bye Birdie\, with a star-studded cast and a nine-piece orchestra\, is coming to the Barn Theatre\, March 13 thru March 30. We all know the story. This 1960's Broadway hit is a loving satire of 1950's small-town America\, teenagers\, and Rock n' Roll. Based on the great pop culture uproar when Elvis Presley was drafted in 1956\, teen heartthrob Conrad Birdie is drafted\, and his legion of teen-aged female fans march in the streets to protest. Taking advantage of this situation\, a production assistant to the Ed Sullivan show suggests that Conrad sing a new song\, "One Last Kiss\," to a special fan selected at random so Conrad can bestow on last kiss before Uncle Sam takes him away. The scheme works when a young small-town Ohio teenager is declared the winner. But no one has counted on the jealous wrath of her boyfriend\, the chaos it causes in this quiet little town\, and the effects it has on Conrad himself. \n\n \n\nOur cast members include Katelyn Ann Johnson (Rosie)\; Andy Morejon (Albert)\; Matthew Hayes (Conrad Birdie)\; Sophia Katsigiannis (Kim MacAfee)\; Kevin Korman (Harry MacAfee)\; Jennifer Goodman (Mae Peterson)\; Claire Sweeney (Ursula Merkle)\; Aiden Powers (Hugo Peabody)\; Mary Murphy (Doris MacAfee)\; Ian Hodges (Randolph McAfee)\; Rick Decker (Mayor)\; Amanda Ferrier (Gloria Rasputin/Penelope)\; Marcus Carr-Morales (Harvey Johnson)\; David Murray (Maude)\; Kayleigh Kivet (Mrs. Merkle)\; Benjamin Tougas (Conductor)\; Lila Plotkin (Margie)\; Asia Downing (Helen)\; Audrey Stecher (Alice)\; Camille Smith (Deborah Sue)\; Mia Rubin (Nancy)\; Cole Sweeney (Suzie)\; Sandi Hellstrom (Mayor's Wife)\; Craig LaForte (Ensemble)\; JC Alberti (Ensemble)\; Aaron Pelc (Ensemble)\; Taylor Evan (Ensemble)\; Maddison Panskoy (Ensemble)\; Marilyn Stevens (Ensemble)\; Jeannette Mazzella (Ensemble)\; and Winter Goodman (Ensemble).\n\n \n\nOur orchestra members are Chris Ketcham (Piano/Conductor)\; Al Hager (Bass)\; Conrad Zuluaf (Tromone)\; Willie Planencia (Trumpet)\; Lindsay Hager (Flute)\; Lisa Knowles (Clarinet)\; Andrew Risis (Percussion)\; Gary Forszt (Drums) and Andy Landwersiek (Guitar).\n\nThe Production Team members are Bryan Childe (Director)\; Chris Ketcham (Musical Director & Conductor)\; Cathy Randazzo Olsen (Producer)\; Natalie Pak (Choreographer)\; Jarred Ivey (Stage Manager)\; Jennifer Bradshaw Paugh (Wigs & Makeup)\; and Gus McCall (Set Designer and Master Carpenter).\n\nFor Tickets\, visit or call the Barn Box Office at 772-287-4884 or visit the Barn's website at www.barn-theatre.com.
