Job Title: Irrigation Technician
Job Summary:
The Irrigation Technician will monitor and test new installations, troubleshoot and repair problems, will perform pipe and valve replacements, foresee potential problems, which will required to have the specialty skills needed to solve them.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Conduct pipe and valve replacements
- Pre-fabricate sub-assemblies as per sample provided by supervisor
- Assisting trenching, digging when needed.
- Learn how to cut and glue lateral line pipe, fitting, cut and assemble drip
- Conduct and record detailed inspections and plan/execute upgrades of client systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair problems, monitor overall operation of the irrigation system.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/ Abilities:
- Able to work as a team player to complete repairs
- A good knowledge of trenchers, multi-meters, wire locators, ditchers and pipe sizing are also essential.
- Ability to create and read site map-colored charts/legends.
- Mechanically oriented
Education and Experience
- 1 year of productive experience in the installation, inspection, and repair of irrigation systems
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Valid Drive’s License and clear driving record
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
- Extensive physical activity, ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day.
- Work requires heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
